A day in the life of
As graphic designer at Visual Print & Design, I take the initial brief from the client or a member of the team and produce concepts and artwork to the specifications and requirements. This could be a new logo design and brand guidelines, brochures, exhibition stands, leaflets or anything that needs text and images to look attractive, engaging and functional.
After our morning production meeting, I review my work list to see what needs doing, if any new jobs have come into the studio or proofs/amends back from clients and what deadlines are coming up, then I dive into designing! All the time checking emails and phone calls for proof feedback, sign off or design enquiries. Sometimes it’s a bit of a juggling act moving quickly between projects.
Receiving the final printed product and knowing the client is pleased with the results makes me very happy.
If I was to give advice to anyone starting out in print design it would be make sure all the images are print quality, artwork has crop marks and 3mm bleed to all sides.
