A look back at 2021 at Visual Print and Design
‘A year in review by our Managing Director, Graham Hunstone’
I did hope that when the time came to write this blog, I would be able to talk about how 2022 will be so different from 2020 and 2021. However, with the threat of omicron on our doorstep (literally for me, unfortunately!) I’ve got to be more realistic.
That said, 2021 has been mostly positive for Visual Print and Design, and I have a lot to be grateful for as a business owner. At the end of 2020, we were only a team of five… but this year, I had to buy a few more Christmas presents as we’re now a team of eleven (including two crazy office dogs!).
It’s certainly been a busy and eventful twelve months and there has been a lot to celebrate and be proud of. In the last year, we:
- Have become an approved print and design supplier for eight different local authorities from across the UK
- Saw our Head of Marketing and Business Development, Rachael, being recognised by the print industry as a Rising Star thanks to the Printing Charity
- Employed two new members of the team thanks to the government Kickstart scheme
- Raised nearly £400 for Marie Curie with our 1 million step challenge
- Planted trees to offset 4.58 tonnes of CO2
- Became a white-label supplier for a global trade printer
- Went viral on Instagram and TikTok with over 10 million views
- Received a 97% approval rating from our customers in our latest feedback survey (June 2021)
- Continued to expand our print and promotional merchandise range
- Were finalists for two awards at the Lincolnshire Technology & Innovation Awards and being the ‘runner up’ for Innovation in Marketing + Advertising
- Filmed our annual (and rather silly!) Christmas video
Writing down all the amazing things we’ve achieved over the last twelve months does put everything in perspective. I’d be lying if I said that Covid-19 didn’t cause us some headaches, but like a lot of businesses, we have continued to fight back. This is thanks to our wonderful, loyal customers and having such a great team behind me. Thank you for everything.
Even with the possibility of more lockdowns and measures, I’m excited to see what 2022 has in store for us and would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful – and covid-free – Christmas and a very happy new year.
