The world isn’t doing too great at the moment. There is an overwhelming amount of negative news stories and we know that these can be hard to ignore. However, even when the world feels like it is at its worst, you’ll always find people who are helping.
That’s why we’d like to share with you some brilliant examples of local businesses that are doing what they can to help the community:
Lincoln Hotel feeds NHS staff for free
The Castle Hotel in the Bailgate area of Lincoln is now providing free healthy meals for NHS workers and has already delivered 200 meals to Lincoln County Hospital.
Distillery switches from gin to hand sanitiser to combat the shortage
Bottomley Distillers in Louth, Lincolnshire have switched from creating the delicious PIN GIN to producing hand sanitiser to combat the shortage.
Lincoln College donates PPE to care homes
Lincoln College has donated a large stock of gloves, aprons and face masks to Lincolnshire Care Association to support care homes during the coronavirus crisis.
Age UK and Salted Orange join forces to help tackle coronavirus isolation
Recently partnering for purpose with Salted Orange Food Company, Age UK Lincoln & South Lincolnshire have launched “Food through Adversity: 21 meals for £20” to help combat the risks of Covid-19 to older people.

Green Partners, who has a factory in Moulton near Spalding, have donated 1,000 bouquets to care workers, NHS staff and those in need in Lincolnshire.
Lincoln-based manufacturer makes a donation to Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance
Formed UK have donated £500 along with PPE and hand sanitiser to Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, who are on the frontline of this crisis.

Lincolnshire Co-op is now selling £20 vouchers over the phone – they can be used by volunteers, friends or family to pay for the shopping of those who are isolating.

When Lincolnshire Charity, LIVES, put out a call for help for hand sanitiser to enable their First Responders and Medic Responders to continue their vital work, local gin producer Lincoln Gin answered the call.
