Machine upgrade to increase capacity
Our growth path continues with the investment of new machinery to meet production demand. We are set to increase our workforce and annual turnover with the purchase of new machinery, costing more than £45,000. The purchase is part of our overall investment plan, in which we will invest in the region of £250,000 in the next six months.
The new machine, a Xerox Versant 180 digital press, has been installed in our Lincoln premises to upgrade and work alongside the existing Xerox C770. The Xerox Versant will be used to increase turnover by £100,000 in 2017/2018, whilst contributing to the Lincoln community by creating two new jobs in the next year.
Our Managing Director Graham, said:
“The existing Xerox has served Visual Print & Design well over the years and still produces a lot of work, but to increase capacity it was time for an upgrade. “The investment also allows us to take advantage of the quicker speed and extra quality the press offers.”
The Xerox Versant 180 takes paper weights from 52gsm to 350gsm at a top speed of 80ppm. It’s suitable for a wide range of media types, such as leaflets, booklets, business cards, labels and posters. It will also now allow us to print larger sized products such as 6 page A4 leaflets.
As a company, we continue to grow and the investment of the Xerox Versant 180 is the 3rd new machine to be purchased in two years. The Visual Print & Design team also run a Mutoh large format printer in-house, offering roller banners, posters and PVC outdoor banners with a 24hr turnaround. In addition, the team have a Morgana booklet maker which allows them to push internal finishing and offer clients professionally finished booklets with impressive turnaround times.
The Xerox Versant 180 is a welcome addition to Visual Print & Design, we hope to support the local economy by increasing our workforce by an extra 2 members of staff within the next year, who will work the internal print and finishing machines and to help with the increase in demand for digital print. Graham added “We are constantly growing and investing as a company, always looking to improve our outputs so clients continue to receive high quality work. The installation of the Versant 180 is another exciting chapter of our growth and investment plans for 2017–2018.”
